Funding Schools First

Too much money is lost in bureaucracy. We need to prioritize classrooms, teachers, and programs that help students grow—where the dollars make a real difference.

Skills That Matter

It’s time to refocus on what matters—reading, writing, and math. These core skills give every child the tools to succeed in school and beyond. Let’s take the politics out and bring the fundamentals back in.

Transparency

You send them to school to grow—not to be kept in the dark. Parents have the right to be informed, involved, and empowered in their children’s education. I believe teachers and parents should be partners—not kept at arm’s length.

As a parent of three kids—ages 8, 10, and 12—I get the privilege of watching them discover the world and figure out who they are. As every parent knows, we can’t always be there. That’s why I choose to entrust them to other adults I respect—not to the state.

As a parent it matters deeply to me that both concerns and accomplishments are shared openly and collaboratively. That way, I can stay involved and help give my kids the best chance at growing into healthy, capable adults.

At these critical ages, it’s essential that the people I trust with my kids are never put in a position where they’re required to withhold information from their parents.

About Dar Zuch

About Dar Zuch

About Dar Zuch

I’m a longtime community builder and a proud product of Alberta’s public education system. Over the years, I’ve served as Past President of the McKenzie Towne Council, Founding President of BNI Abundance, a board member for the McKenzie Towne Community Association, and a leader in local initiatives like the McKenzie Towne Job Fair and the Rocky Mountain 4-H Multiclub.

I believe public education is one of the greatest gifts we can pass on to future generations. It's where we learn not just facts, but values—respect, responsibility, and the meaning of community. As a trustee, I want to support the passionate educators already working on the front lines, create space for innovation, and help ensure our schools remain strong, supportive places for every child.

Business Owner

As a small business owner, I’ve learned the importance of smart budgeting, clear communication, and staying responsive to the needs of those I serve—skills that directly apply to supporting strong, efficient schools.

4-H Multi-Club Leader

Being a 4-H Club General Leader has given me the privilege of mentoring youth, helping them build confidence, responsibility, and teamwork—values that belong at the heart of every classroom.
